Southampton Shore Excursion: Post-Cruise Tour to London via Stonehenge
When your cruise ship ends at Southampton Port, head to London by luxury coach and stop at Stonehenge on the way. Brimming with ancient intrigue and mystery, the UNESCO-listed stone circle is a must-visit while in England! Hear theories surrounding its history from your tour manager and then explore the site at leisure before being dropped off at your central London or Heathrow hotel.
Disembark your cruise ship and meet your friendly host at Southampton Port. Your luxury coach is ready and waiting, so hop on board and relax on the journey north, passing through the Hampshire and Wiltshire countryside. While traveling, your tour manager will talk to you about Wiltshire’s most enigmatic monument – Stonehenge – and explain some of the theories about the construction of this mysterious Megalithic stone circle.
After a journey of roughly an hour, arrive at Stonehenge to spend time at leisure exploring. While wandering around this incredible UNESCO World Heritage-listed relic, think about some of the stories your tour manager told you and make up your own mind about how it came to stand: was it erected by the devil, built by pagans to be a place of healing, or designed to be a center of astrology? Whatever conclusion you reach, Stonehenge is sure to leave you captivated.
At the pre-arranged time, meet your tour manager back on the coach and head east into London, stopping at Heathrow hotels first. If your hotel is near one of London’s other airports (Gatwick, Stansted or Luton), depart your coach at London Victoria Station, and take a train there at your own expense.
